Question: How do you make your organization a safe and affirming place for LGBTQ+ people to be?
Answer: By fostering an environment based on respect, dignity, and empowerment, WGB work to ensure that LGBTQ+ individuals feel affirmed, safe, and supported when accessing our services. We collaborate with LGBTQ+ advocacy groups to stay informed on best practices and offer specialized resources or referrals to clients who may need additional support.
Question: In your fundraising activities, do you solicit funds from non-affirming organizations? If so, which organizations?
Answer: While we welcome support from a diverse range of individuals, corporations, and foundations, we carefully consider the alignment of potential partners with our mission. If an organization is known to have policies or practices that are non-affirming or discriminatory toward any marginalized group, including LGBTQ+ individuals, we would not actively seek or accept funding from them. Our goal is to ensure that the sources of our funding reflect our dedication to fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for all of our clients and the broader community.
